In order to further enhance exchanges between Chinese and foreign nationals and facilitate high-quality development and extensive openness, the Chinese government has decided to initiate a pilot programme to expand the unilateral visa-free policy to nationals holding ordinary passports from six countries: France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malaysia. For the period from 1 December 2023 to 30 November 2024, nationals from these countries with ordinary passports will be permitted to enter China for business, tourism, visiting family and friends, or transit purposes without the need for a visa, provided their stay does not exceed 15 days. It should be noted that individuals who fail to meet the criteria for visa-free entry are still required to obtain a proper visa in order to enter China. |
