The long-awaited ANUFOOD China Will Finally Unveil itself in Shenzhen this April

As the first international food & beverage exhibition strategically focused in serving South China market, ANUFOOD China, organized by Koelnmesse, co-organized by China Chamber of Commerce of I/E of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-products (CFNA) and Shenzhen Retail Business Association (SZRBA) will finally unveil the “show curtain” on 21-23 April, 2021 in Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center.

Since the announcement in 2019 that ANUFOOD China will set its base permanently in South China market and deepen its roots in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay area, the region has been developing remarkably well with a strong momentum even in a COVID-affected environment. Take the top 4 cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen) of GDP ranking for instance, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, the 2 cities both located in South China have logged 2.767 trillion RMB and 2.502 trillion RMB in terms of GDP in 2020, which see the 2 cities making a positive growth of 3.1% and 2.7% respectively compared with last year’s performance. The annual growth rate outpaced Beijing (1.2%) and Shanghai (1.7%) to a great extent.

The organizers of ANUFOOD China have been following the ever-evolving development of the catering needs in South China. In addition to the classical exhibiting, ANUFOOD China will use a bunch of other add-on instruments to maximize the experiences of both exhibitors and visitors. The range includes Virtual Plus, the online exhibition platform; Foodie Space, the catering experience zone and Bougainvillea Cup Chef Challenge, the cooking competition. Concurrent conferences will be held onsite including The Congress of China Imported Food Association of CFNA, Global Imported Food Retail Market Trends Forum, International Food Industry Cluster Development Summit, Global Animal Protein Summit, and the Culture Tourism and Specialty Food Development Committee of China Cuisine Association. All the efforts above are to ensure a plethora of market, technological and policy information about the industry are thoroughly shared to everyone present at the exhibition.

After dedicated efforts and the great support powered by anuga, over 500 exhibitors from 23 countries will exhibit at ANUFOOD China among which some of them exhibit in the form of country pavilions including Germany, Ireland, Poland, Greece, United Kingdom, Italy, Czech, Tajikistan, Iran and Indonesia. In the meantime, due to the warmer domestic industry conditions, exhibitors from Zhejiang, Hubei, Shandong, Jilin and Fujian will similarly exhibit as provincial pavilions, bring the latest momentum from “Made in China” to “Made by China”.

From the top down angle, 85% of the exhibitors have all confirmed their booth location and the exhibit category includes sweets & snacks, fine food, drinks, meat, organic, dairy, seafood and fruits & vegetables, presenting the latest premium product choices to Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The newly upgraded Hosted Buyer Program will serve as a tailor-made add-on service to interested buyers by conducting pre-show business matchmaking. The pre-show service made feasible by Virtual Plus will minimize the communication cost between exhibitors and buyers so the accredited buyers can communicate with exhibitors in advance and browse their full exhibit category and detailed products information, therefore much improving the efficiency and success of onsite business matchmaking.

What also makes the business matchmaking unique this time is the sessions are now broken down into “product sessions” and “channel sessions”. 3 product sessions are hosted each by exhibitors from alcohol, meat and sweets & snacks category to meet potential buyers whereas 3 channel sessions are hosted each by buyers from distribution, retail and catering sectors to meet the interested exhibitors.

With Virtual Plus, the online exhibition platform confirmed to be launched on 1 March, 2021, all exhibitors and accredited buyers can have a trustable environment to communicate via messaging and video-conferencing before the show. Meanwhile, Virtual Plus can also enable visitors to apply for all the supporting programs such as Foodie Space, Bougainvillea Cup Chef Challenge etc. and even pre-show webinars and seminars on an integrated platform.

The visitor pre-registration channel has been fully launched and all the pre-registered visitors will receive in priority the login link of Virtual Plus once it is officially online. The webinar - “Uruguay Meat Industry and Catering Application” will be the very first event on the platform. It’s estimated that in 2021 the Uruguay livestock and meat production will gradually elevate back to its normal benchmark level. The webinar will be a great opportunity to listen to the official representative of National Meat Institute of Uruguay to present the estimated Uruguay meat industry evolution, and enjoy the Uruguay meat cooking technique presented by the great chef.
